Oh holiday

Everything's confirmed regarding our Bangkok trip. We are flying late Saturday afternoon and returning in the late night of Tuesday. Means I wouldn't be able to send Yenfang off to Shanghai. But don't worry girl, the thailand sim card you gave me will be put to good use ya?

Made a trip down to Chinatown today, and so happen to bump into the Thaipusam event on the road. And it just makes me wonder how many Singaporeans had actually learnt to appreciate such things before we go oohhahh-ing when we travel and lament on how boring Singapore is. I was just looking at the ang mohs with their SLR cameras shooting at the stalls in Chinatown's festive mood and asking myself how different I would feel witnessing a Thaipusam ritual in say, India, rather than in Singapore. Very different I guess. Its all in the mind, people.

Anyway, the visit to Chinatown got me into the Chinese New Year mood, finally. Just that I was abit disappointed with the "variety" of goodies they sell. Most of them were selling taiwanese mochi and jelly. Sigh.. such evolution to new year goodies.

Saw this sign and I thought it was quite interesting. I am just an easily amused Singaporean.

ANYWAY! Chan got touted by a hooker! Hahaha! I was 5m away looking at something else and this lady went up to him and asked "have you heard of the latest promotion?" My god, he should have asked her for the details of the so called promotion cos I AM CURIOUS! Heard, or read somewhere before that the ladies in Chinatown were offering some kind of Chinese New Year promotion. Aren't you curious what kind of promotion they have? Like a buy 1 get 1 free, or sign up for 10 sessions and I give you a special rate like what facial palours do.

On another note, we saw this uncle in shirt and pants dancing to the tune of another uncle's singing. What a basker! The vid is unclear but you can roughly see the uncle's awesome dance moves.

I took another vid, in the car, of my silly boyfriend singing his air force school song. That totally cracked me up but he says I can't post it. :( He is on course now and attends classes at AFS everyday. So now we have a role reversal of me working and him having to study for quizzes and exams. So weird. And yah, he happened to be telling about having to recite the national pledge, RSAF 9 commandment, specialist creed and sing the AFS song twice a week and telling me how hard it was to recall all these in a few days and started showing me literally how mouthful the lyrics of his school song is. Then he couldn't stop singing and kept repeating the mouthful part of tenacity, competency and some other big words throughout the whole journey at bukit timah. It probably sounds lame here but I really couldn't stop laughing. Such a pity he doesn't allow me to post it!

Some other recent happenings:

We went for a double date over a professional basketball match and dinner at Lagoon 2 weekends ago. The match was so-so but it was free anyway. And it was the company that matters, considering that it was the first time me and Shiyin met up after the chalet :))

Watching the basketball match made me miss those SA days. Have been a superrrrr long time since I saw HuiJie and Ivan played.

What a smooth transition to my next few photos. Haha!

Went for dinner with them on Sat and really enjoyed the almost-doing-nothing session with them. Sadly, this was the only decent photo we had. All thanks to Ivan and Steph trying to cut each other off. You see, even this photo was supposed to end at Yenfang but Steph somehow came to join me in front and totally ruined Ivan's plan.

My fangfang and My stephie

and my MVP!
We hardly take such a not too bad shot, so must show!
(ahem, single and available!)
