Lo and behold, after 2 year and 3 weeks together and million times of pure mentioning about going jogging, we finally did it today.
All thanks to my big mouth. I don't know which wire went wrong to suggest it this afternoon, then I couldn't take it back anymore. Like how you say certain things and caused certain effects and wished you never said it. You know you know? My excuses ranges from "I can't ran in specs" to "We had chicken for dinner" but none worked.
The weather was good and I am glad he dragged me out to sweat it out.
We were talking about transport arrangements to and fro Changi Airport for our upcoming trip, curious about how the budget terminal will be like when something struck me.
Terminal 3! I was reminded by a little joke of an attempt to crash the place. Oh well.. those were the days.

Transformed into a toot today cos there's something hurting my eye. As per the tele-conversation between the boyfriend and his optom godpa, its like a blister thingy on my eyeball. Wow, blister on the eyeball! If the boyfriend's description was correctly understood by his godpa, the blister like thingy should go away in 2-3 days time. Banned from contact lenses for the rest of the week (only, i hope)
Someone started nagging about over wearing my contact lenses and not rubbing them properly, or at all for that matter. To me, it is another step closer to deciding to do lasik.
2 person turned 22 today!

Tattoo
Here I am sitting at one of the cubicles of Tricor, alone. No senior, whoever. Just me, alone, a MI plucking lead sheet.
The morning has been peaceful. Keep it that way.
My current most listened to song:
Jordin Sparks Tattoo
No matter what you say about love
I keep coming back for more
Keep my hand in the fire
Sooner or later, I'll get what I'm asking for
No matter what you say about life
I learn every time I bleed
That truth is a stranger
Soul is in danger, I gotta let my spirit be free
To admit that I'm wrong
And then change my mind
Sorry but I have to move on
And leave you behind
I can't waste time so give it a moment
I realize, nothing's broken
No need to worry 'bout everything I've done
Live every second like it was my last one
Don't look back at a new direction
I loved you once, needed protection
You're still a part of everything I do
You're on my heart just like a tattoo
(Just like a tattoo, I'll always have you
I'll always have you, I'll always have you)
I'm sick of playing all of these games
It's not about taking sides
When I looked in the mirror, didn't deliver
It hurt enough to think that I could
Stop, admit that I'm wrong
And then change my mind
Sorry but I gotta be strong
And leave you behind

Friendship
Met up with Chanchos on Friday night for a sort of farewell and advance birthday party for Yenfang.
Somehow, the whole night, and the whole of Saturday, these 2 lines kept appearing in my mind. 时间已做好选择,什么人叫做朋友
How apt.
Although how the guys eventually got close to us is still a mystery, I am glad it all happened.
Anyway, the reason I showed up at Chevron with a purple balloon last night is 'cos the balloon was distributed by a small boy.
There was a big draw of adults, taking balloons from this small boy. What a marketing strategy but I don't really like the idea.
We were at Vivo's pet shop and the boyfriend can't stop telling me how much he likes this dog. According to him, the look on a bulldog makes him happy, because when he sees it, he just wanna laugh.
I am so not gonna own a dog with him.

Oh holiday
Everything's confirmed regarding our Bangkok trip. We are flying late Saturday afternoon and returning in the late night of Tuesday. Means I wouldn't be able to send Yenfang off to Shanghai. But don't worry girl, the thailand sim card you gave me will be put to good use ya?
Made a trip down to Chinatown today, and so happen to bump into the Thaipusam event on the road. And it just makes me wonder how many Singaporeans had actually learnt to appreciate such things before we go oohhahh-ing when we travel and lament on how boring Singapore is. I was just looking at the ang mohs with their SLR cameras shooting at the stalls in Chinatown's festive mood and asking myself how different I would feel witnessing a Thaipusam ritual in say, India, rather than in Singapore. Very different I guess. Its all in the mind, people.
Anyway, the visit to Chinatown got me into the Chinese New Year mood, finally. Just that I was abit disappointed with the "variety" of goodies they sell. Most of them were selling taiwanese mochi and jelly. Sigh.. such evolution to new year goodies.
Saw this sign and I thought it was quite interesting. I am just an easily amused Singaporean.
ANYWAY! Chan got touted by a hooker! Hahaha! I was 5m away looking at something else and this lady went up to him and asked "have you heard of the latest promotion?" My god, he should have asked her for the details of the so called promotion cos I AM CURIOUS! Heard, or read somewhere before that the ladies in Chinatown were offering some kind of Chinese New Year promotion. Aren't you curious what kind of promotion they have? Like a buy 1 get 1 free, or sign up for 10 sessions and I give you a special rate like what facial palours do.
On another note, we saw this uncle in shirt and pants dancing to the tune of another uncle's singing. What a basker! The vid is unclear but you can roughly see the uncle's awesome dance moves.
I took another vid, in the car, of my silly boyfriend singing his air force school song. That totally cracked me up but he says I can't post it. :( He is on course now and attends classes at AFS everyday. So now we have a role reversal of me working and him having to study for quizzes and exams. So weird. And yah, he happened to be telling about having to recite the national pledge, RSAF 9 commandment, specialist creed and sing the AFS song twice a week and telling me how hard it was to recall all these in a few days and started showing me literally how mouthful the lyrics of his school song is. Then he couldn't stop singing and kept repeating the mouthful part of tenacity, competency and some other big words throughout the whole journey at bukit timah. It probably sounds lame here but I really couldn't stop laughing. Such a pity he doesn't allow me to post it!
Some other recent happenings:
We went for a double date over a professional basketball match and dinner at Lagoon 2 weekends ago. The match was so-so but it was free anyway. And it was the company that matters, considering that it was the first time me and Shiyin met up after the chalet :))
Watching the basketball match made me miss those SA days. Have been a superrrrr long time since I saw HuiJie and Ivan played.
What a smooth transition to my next few photos. Haha!
Went for dinner with them on Sat and really enjoyed the almost-doing-nothing session with them. Sadly, this was the only decent photo we had. All thanks to Ivan and Steph trying to cut each other off. You see, even this photo was supposed to end at Yenfang but Steph somehow came to join me in front and totally ruined Ivan's plan.
My fangfang and My stephie
and my MVP! We hardly take such a not too bad shot, so must show! (ahem, single and available!)

Yesterday afternoon, Yirong messaged me to ask me if I knew who’s Jiaren. I thought it was just another “it’s a small world” occasion. She forgot to reply me after that.
At night I was doing my routine blog visiting and found out the news on Xia’s blog. Then found the cause from Min’s.
Then I understood Eunice’s MSN nick and why Yirong asked.
Another acquaintant’s life is taken away on the road. In primary school your Chinese teacher taught you that the road is like a tiger’s mouth, you think it’s a funny metaphor.
Drive safely, people. And when I say these 2 words, I think of Gavin. Drive safely!! And ban bikes, forever.
Life can really be so fragile. Every incident reinforces that into my mind. It is really that fragile.

The 6th week of internship
Days in KPMG definitely seemed to pass faster than the days in F&N. Life in KP for me is far from what it is known for.
I would say this is the best week. Client's at Science Park, the nicest accountants I have encountered so far. I get shooed off by my senior at 5.30+ and have a colleague to share a cab and send me home. Because of this convenience, I am super lazy to go out and end up reaching home early everyday to watch 手足,random 8pm show/deal or no deal and 黄金路, and lights out at 10 plus 11.
I managed to get a hair cut too. But it doesn't feel any different except that it is like 10times lighter now. I really really have the urge to cut my hair short short. Probably like shoulder length? Well, I guess I will never do it. Oh btw, I like the way Felicia Chin's hair is done up in 黄金路 just that it makes her face look weird from certain angle. Kinda hate my hair now cos it looks more like straight bad hair day which qiao rather than wavy. Which makes me want to cut it short short even more cos thats the only way I can get back my straight hair without looking like an ah lian. Alternatively would be to go for another perm. Ok, I am at it again. Shut up and live with it first.
This latest toy in town makes me wanna smash my Lenovo so that I can have an excuse to get a new laptop. I am talking like money falls from the sky. Now is the worse time to request anything from my dad if I want my desired budget for exchange.
Oh yah, I need to go shopping for CNY too.
I tell you this Zhicheng and Gavin are getting out of hand. Gavin Tan is damn uncle. My ears are bursting, they are like screaming into my phone.
Gone to conference with the uncles!

In a just-wanna-blog mood
Random stuff:
Most of the people on exchange in Europe are back home. Have seen Dicky and Ben so far, and heard from JJ. Thanks for the call on saturday morning ah JJ!
Into the 6th week of internship. Can't wait to get back to school. KP delayed our pay. ARGH! I finally couldn't stand the ambiguity and called up the HR. It is coming in tmr. Hurryyyy.
The daily cab fare is draining me dry.
Our Bangkok trip is 90% confirmed. We have been sourcing for the best deals and have more or less decided on Jet Star and Samran Place Hotel. All we need now is for him to go collect his passport, then we can make our bookings already! I can't wait, seriously. Already had my itinery planned out. Abit too kan cheong spider, I know, but I can't help it!
Another step has also been taken for the June Hong Kong trip with Chanchos. At least now we have a date. Might be spending my 22nd birthday there. Wheeeeee. All we need now is for our dear Shanghai-mei-to-be to arrive in Shanghai and get her visa done before we get down to the actual booking. Did a little browse on hotels in Hong Kong and they are freaking expensive. Well, because I was doing my Bangkok hotel sourcing at the same time. I am getting my 3 star Samran Place for about 40+ SGD per night (even Baiyoke Suite is only 70SGD) but a 3 star hotel in Kowloon is about 150-200 SGD. Freaking insane.
Its also time to start doing some work for exchange.
All these are getting me super hyped up. :)))

8 Jan 08
Visited Dr Chin again, for real. He decided that I needed antibiotics this time round, refilled my cough syrup (yucky as usual) and gave me a different flu pill. Another piece of MC.
Slept the afternoon. Cough syrup is yucky and drowsy, which makes it double yucky.
We headed for our spa at The Ultimate at CSC Bukit Batok in the evening. The massage was damn shiok. My shoulders are super stiff and painful, as usual. She was pressing this point on my shoulder so hard I can still feel it now. A very stiff point, she said, had to loosen it. I chose Javanese, which was firm and "more deep tissue pressing" and he took Balinese, which is supposedly gentler. His masseur added a Thai touch with some twisting and cracking of bones.
The package comes with a tie for him, a bra from Blush! which I have to go redeem at the outlet, a bottle of red wine, a bouquet of flowers and a full body scrub and a one hour massage each - all for only 89 bucks. Super worth it. Not to mention, they serve very nice ginger tea as well!
If you received the brochure in your monthly UOB statement, keep it and go for it! Its some Valentine's Day promotion. Only for first time customers. Do you think we will be able to pass off as first timers if we go to another branch, using another UOB card?
Headed for our late dinner at BaliThai at West Mall. I told him I feel like a school kid celebrating anniversary at West Mall. Eating at a fast food joint would make the whole thing super nostalgic I guess. I was allowed to eat anything, despite being sick, for that meal. Wooohoo. Bye to boring old soupy and "healthy" food and a big hi to beef rendang, mango salad, grilled sotong. Yumsss. I am craving for the eggplant which we didn't manage to finish. :(
Its close to lunch time! My cab fare this morning was 24bucks. It feels good watching the meter jump and understand why people complain when its not your own money being spent. My Silver Arrow (turbo charged Skoda) female cabbie was damn hiong. She scolded another cabbie "stupid man, dunno how to drive taxi" and I thought it was hilarious! "Stupid female driver" was so last century, I see that "stupid male driver" is the in thing in 2008! I love it!
Came in this morning and rushed my work thinking that I wouldn't have enough time to finish them. But now I realised that I am about half way through. Sense of urgency always work. Now its time to take a chill pill and look forward to lunch.
Happy mid-week!

2 YEARS
which equals to 24 months, 760 days, 18,240++ hours. Its amazing how time flies. I've been with him for 2 full years already.
We exchanged presents at 12. He got me a handbag and a "blue box" as requested. Just that the blue box came in the wrong shade. Haha.
He says we are not ready for a Tiffany yet. So I'll have to make do with Swarovski first. But still love him and the present deep deep. I've got more blings now. Yay!
His present, flown back from Old Trafford, which he already guessed correctly and kept testing me with alot of "I think I am going to buy a Man U jersey" for the past few weeks, which I nonchalently replied "buy lor" to continue to cover up. I knew when I need to jump into action to stop him.
All these gifts don't really mean anything to me anymore because having him for these 2 years is already a gift from heaven. When I met him, I never thought of falling in love. And how everything progresses from there and how his appearance in my life changed a lot of "what would have happened" is in itself a miracle. I would not exchange this gift for anything in the world. Nothing.
Happy 2nd Anniversary dear! And many more to goooo.

Karma
Or the boyfriend calls it - Pantang.
For those of you who knew what I did on wednseday and thursday, here's the news. I am really sick today.
Soaking in the chilly pool at Del Mar scantilly clad in bikini and insisting to sing the Ah Mei, Peggy Hsu songs at K box until 3am and sleeping at 4 when your body is already hinting to give up certainly doesn't help.
I'm feeling soft all over now. Good night!

Looking ahead - 2008
(Ok, let's face it. I am bored. And I don't feel like its time to sleep cos I woke up at an awesome time of 2.30pm)
I gave up on the new year resolution thingy cos I can't remember what reso I made by the end of the year anyway. So there's no way I can reflect and ask myself what I have achieved, hence there's no point in making any resolutions right? But I have started picturing events in the year and thought of how the year is going to be like.
2008 is probably going to be a year of travelling, if everything goes according to plan.
From now to end Feb, its going to be KPMG audit management intern. I never prefer working life but I guess with different clients plotted, and travelling the ends of Singapore, the next 6-7 weeks will past quite fast. My previous job was at Changi South Street 2 or something like that, Expo MRT station and my next confirmed job will be at Tuas. Walalala, from end to end, but at least geography tells me Tuas is nearer from home.
Chan and I are planning on a Thailand trip during my one week break between internship and mod term. We are still deciding between Phuket and Bangkok. My vote goes to Bangkok but he is more interested in Phuket so there's still some negotiation to be done there within this week while his leave gets approved.
After all that fun, it will be back to school, on a 3.5 mods mod-term till June. I am looking forward to hanging out in the libs with the rest of the Asoc big clique who are coming home!
Chancho has been talking about our June Taiwan trip since a few months ago. To reach this planning stage is already the furthest we got and I really want it to happen, regardless of whether we go Hong Kong or Taiwan in the end.
This news is pretty new. My grandparents are thinking of going over to Perth in June and Ah ma wants me to confirm with them my holiday schedule and look out for budget airline promotion and book tix once there's any. If I am garang enough, I might want to drag a friend or 2 with me to Perth and head to visit some other cities in Western Aussie on a backpack. Sounds fun?
I hope to have 2 weeks of absolutely nothing so I can go for lasik. My dad wants to sponsor me for lasik but I can't even fork out a decent 1-2 weeks for it. Hopefully, I can get it done by July. Hopefully.
I had actually hope to force in another summer internship but I have no idea how. That, we'll see.
And of course, the so-talked-about Canada exchange. If it happens, the last quarter of 2008 will be spent touring Canada and the States, wrapping myself like a fat bear freezing in the winter wonderland and missing all the people back home.
I can't wait for all the events to unfold by itself. For now, I just have to make sure that the plans wouldn't just stay as plans forever.
