Happy Birthday Babies

The 2 things which I sometimes refer to as baby happen to turn 1 this week.

My last year's christmas present which I affectionately call baby nowadays. Baby wears a nice smelling army tee now to prevent it from turning grey. The nice smelling army tee will be changed once in a while to another nice smelling army tee.

Jazzy baby turning 1 too and I gave it a good wash yesterday. Has been a long time since I did that. I only remembered washing the car twice or thrice in the year. Washing it made me realise how much it has suffer over this year, small scratches by neighbouring car doors, the big patch caused by my uncle who better keep his promise to get it fixed by chinese new year. Being christmas yesterday, I made the soap super foamy and left the washing area filled with white foam after that. Fun. No joke, but I am aching a little from carrying of pail, bending down for the rims and stretching as much as I could for the roof. It feels abit like great singapore workout.

Attended Cairong's wedding last evening. Haven't seen the girl for years and after her wedding, she is going to fly back to Auckland and I probably wouldn't see her till god-knows-when again. The newly weds are in the midst of applying for their NZ citizenship. Envious. Saw the rest of the netballers whom I haven't seen for quite some time too. Peilee, Beng, Shelia, Yenling, Grace, some other school mates whom Cairong was close to, and even Miss Leong!

This is the only photo I have in my camera. The netties with our bride. I know I looked damn out of place cos for some reason the taller ones chose not to stand properly. Our table had very bad view, I could only see 1/8 of the stage. Only enthu mama Ms Leong went forward to snap photos during the yum sengs, sabo games, cake cutting etc. The first thing my stupid boyfriend asked about her form teacher wasn't whether she is still teaching at KSS, how is she and stuff. His first question was "what was she wearing?" followed by "is she still wearing the same specs?". Before he could ask further, I answered his unasked 3rd question with "her hair is still the same." There you go, nothing has changed. She is still her. But it was nice seeing her, although she suaned me with a "how lost are we" when I gave her a lift home. Very typical of her also.

She can't stop going on about how "exceptional" of a triple science class my class was. "Exceptional" was her exact word and exceptional in a negative way was what she meant. Me and Yenfang asked and defended alot but she still had her own views on how "exceptional" we were, in terms of behavior and work. I didn't remember we were so bad? And she agreed that the people in the car (aka me and fang) were biased sample which did not support her "exceptional" view. Heeheee. We were typical and normal 4D people. :)))) See lah, you all lah! Leave this kind of impression behind. Haha.

It was quite a nice get together. Seeing the Kranjians get attached to each other from no links in the past was quite funny. I tried to keep quiet when Peilee was at the topic but she still realised in the end and turned to me with a "eh you also hor."

Its so weird catching up at a wedding dinner. I am still at the catching up on a 21st party kinda stage. Quite weird, but quite fun at the same time. It will be a long time till the next one, I guess.

PS: Asoc darlings, spot the dress you guys gave me on my birthday! Wore it for the first time. :) Felt abit insecure at first without my you-know-what, but got used to it after a whileeeee!

Good Morning Christmas

I usually don't wake up so early on Christmas cos Christmas eve means late night. I slept quite early last night, not too well, but rather early, and woke up with the dawn moon hanging above me and greetings from the waves slapping on the shore.

The boyfriend decided that we go "camping" at Sentosa to make Christmas a little different thie time round. So after our home made christmas dinner, we packed, and headed to Sentosa. The tent wasn't how we imagined it to be when he purchased it. Instead of the conventional 2-men or 4-men tent, fully covered, with zipper "door", the tent we have turned out to be something like a normal round dome tent, cut into half, and thats it, no "doors". Haha. I tried googling for a picture but I can't it anywhere on the world wide web. But all you need to imagine is a round dome tent, cut into half, making a shelter of sort.

We counted down, lit sparkles, chilled awhile and since there wasn't much to do, we lay down and me being me, I soon fell asleep. But the sleep wasn't peaceful at all cos I had to keep scratching myself. Gar gar decided to join our christmas party. I found 4 love marks on my face in the morning. I could feel the love withing your kisses, mozzzzzz. The lizard on the pillar behaved like an old grandfather, chiming at every hour, proclaiming its presence but I wonder why it did not help itself to the mozzies around me. We totally forgot about repellent, but we had the axe brand medicated oil which worked quite well. Just that it gets chilly when the wind comes.

But me being his "typical dear dear", I managed to catch some sleep while he hardly slept at all. Tried to sleep and got up, tried again and got up again. So throughout the night he was trying to sleep, getting up, snacking on the tidbits, "looking after" me, trying to hit the mozzies, burning paper to keep the mozzies away and when closer to dawn, whipped out his toy and started snapping away.

And so, my Christmas camping which he describes it as the first and he last time. HAHAHA.

Anywayyyy, my dinner last night was quite a success I think. The rosti turned out ok, the pork chops were quite nice, just a tad too salty but goes well with rosti. Sausages were idiot proof. The carrots and mushrooms turned out different from what I wanted but still yummy. Happy :))

I have been giving out my address but so far only received one christmas card. I can sense the jam in the post office. But electronic ones don't get jam. Thanks babe, so your style. :)

This post doesn't have a title

Familiar setting with a different group of people. Went out with them again, nuff said. But brought my boy along this time round. Glad he blended in ok. KTV, dinner, drinks, and ended up chatting at Botanics in the dark and went home late again.

All these late nights are killing me. Have been going past 3am every weekend and then forcing myself back to the working time during the weekdays. My body clock is confused. I feel like taking MC tmr. I want to lie on the sofa the whole day to finish up my book.

The year is coming to an end, yet again. I am sooo looking forward to it for just one reason. My pocket is burning from the work clothes, christmas gifts, going out after work and Cairong's wedding dinner this coming Tuesday. I just want December to hurry shoo so that I can refill the surplus. Now I understand why people cringe upon receiving a wedding invitation. I am broke like a cow now but still very excited to see my captain walking down the aisle on such a special Christmas day. :)

Spending Time Alone

It has been almost 2 weeks since I get the luxury of sleeping at 12 and waking up at 12. Decided to spend time with myself, to reflect on things while doing the things I had to do in an exeptionally slow pace.

Drove down to Funan to get the IBM adaptor then to Ikea for a lil Christmas shopping then to NTUC for some grocery shopping. Traffic was bad due to the rain, accidents everywhere, parking was gross and queues at the cashier were freaking long. Other days, I would have felt impatient and cursing at the people in front to hurry and go. Today was exeptionally peaceful. Driving slowly with the windscreen wiper going from left to right and right to left. Waiting patiently and still smile at the person in front of me and the cashier when I had to wait for the cashier to painstakingly wrap up her 36 wine glasses one by one, before I can pay for my 2 items costing less than 10 dollars.

I finally feel that I am not just a rat in this stupid race for time.

I always lament on how things always happen, but guess I have to admit that I always allowed things to happen. I asked myself several times whether it was the right thing to do. People have been telling me that we can't change people into ourselves, so we need to accept people for who they are. And that since human beings are fundamentally different, we need to be accepting and tolerant towards one another. I will not beg to differ any of that.

Someone brought up a good point that friendships and love between a couple requires similar ingredients, for the same happily ever after goal. Exactly. But so many at times, it is easier to digest and accept something your other half tells you. When your friend tries to bring a similar point across, the response is different. Back to the point of human beings being fundamentally different, does that mean that a friend should just accept and tolerate and not voice things out like how your other half do? We know that in order to make a relationship work, we should voice out our happiness and work towards resolving it, so shouldn't it work for friendships too?

If you think that there's this bad habit about your boyfriend (or girlfriend for that matter) which you don't like, and you keep on tolerating and accepting it because you tell yourself thats just who he is, you will explode one day and tell him you can't stand him anymore and hence, Good Bye. But at least if you let him know, he will be conscious of that habit and might make an attempt to improve, even if he doesn't, you get your point across and hear his point and that will easily make it easier to tolerate, wouldn't it?

I am not trying to be a fairy, wanting to cast a spell and mould everyone into my ideal person. But I do want to work towards my happily ever after with the people I treasure and care about.
I know that I have to do it in a more tactful way. One can't afford too many painful lessons to learn the same mistake. I am glad that this isn't exactly a painful lesson, just an unpleasant reinforcement to the same lesson.

Holiday - All in One

My pathetic but happening one week hols - all in one post.

Alright, moving on from the Hanabi feast and wild partying at Utter Factory on Saturday.

Went to East Coast Lagoon for dinner with Chan on Sunday. I think it was the first time I drove him there because eventhough we have been there million times, I still don't know which exit to take. Oh well. Had another mini feast of stingray, vege, cockles, chix wings, rojak. Yumms.

Sent my boy home to nurse his swollen ankle after that and headed to KTV with Shiyin, Mak and HuiJie! We could have sang til 3am but left at 12 cos Yin had to work the next day.

I find myself having a shortage of songs to sing. Send me new chinese songs people!

Went SHOPPING for office wear on Monday. It was a test of physical again. Spent about 200 on shirts, pants, knee length skirt. Me and serene ended up with several same items so now we have to coordinate to make sure we dont wear the same things to work. And everytime we step out of the changing room, zhicheng and I will be complaining about how bui we feel. Blah.

I headed home after dinner while they went to catch a movie but met them for SUPPER again! Dim Sum at Ho Kee Pau at Geylang was awesome. The carrot cake, chive dumplings, chee cheong fun were my favourite. Being the only westie, distressed damsel without my Jazzy baby, I was assigned hero Li (out of Li, Lee and Zhou) to fetch me to and fro. Thanks Tim!!

On tuesday I did another of my favourite activity. SLACK at home. I was awakened at 8plus by mum shouting at bro and bro shouting back before they left for airport. So what happened this time round was that one was taking too long to prepare and the other was worried about traffic jams and being late. And I couldn't get back to sleep after that. -_- Ended up surfing blogs, facebook, sprees, watching TV, pack for Frasers getaway, taking a 4 hour nap to make my sleeping hours total up to 8, and finally finally, after 6 long months, went to paste the selected photos from my birthday party which I developed onto the remaining space in my guestbook. Nice procrastination there!

And finally, wednesday arrived. FRASER SUITES getaway!

Mum drove me to the serviced residence at River Valley Road in the heavy rain. Joined the rest at supermarket shopping at Valley Point then went back to start cooking.

Dinner, prepared by head chefs zhicheng and bobbs and helped out (haha!) by the rest of us, was awesome! We had salad, potatoes, carrots, STEAK, self-made burger patty and red wine.

Watched DVD, started drinking and dressing up for Mambo, Jason and Huiyi came, more drinking and playing drinking games.
The 3 of us decided to swap dresses. ahahhaa. So fun. I'm wearing linrong's dress and the blue dress serene is wearing is mine. I can just imagine Dicky scolding us retarded girls but we looooveee our make shift new dresses.

We walked to Zouk and met up with Becks and Fions there. How cool to be of walking distance. Kinda high from the pre party drinking so as usual this serene was walking DAMN FAST. Phuture sucked big time that night. It was sooooo packed we can't even move. All the squeezing through crowds and getting squooshed by people. OMG. I hated it.

Thursday was an attempt to fully make use of their facilities. Free archade games where we challenged puzzle bubble, badminton, basketball. Damn sad we couldn't go tanning but we went to use their steambath and sauna. Despite the drizzle, serene and I ended up swimming a little and playing with floats and beach balls in the freezing pool, talking about how much we deserve this break and how we wished it will be like that everyday. Bobbs cooked spaghetti and the leftovers from the previous day. Drank and drank and make shift party using music from Tim's laptop. How loser but we had alot of fun cos all of us were damn high. Super unglam and alot of inside jokes now. Some of us woke up laughing at the stupid things we did and said while some woke up regretting what they did and said. Haha. The only sober bobbs made an analysis of how each of us behave when we were drunk. Hahaha. Would love to hear from him actually.

Reached home on Friday, went online and received an awesome surprise from Jenny and Damian. :D Apparently, Jenny was really lenient to mark based on my misinterpretation of the question if not this couldn't have happened. But whatever it is, it was a pleasant surprise and I am elated!

Napped abit and met Eunice for supermarket shopping and preparation of our steamboat with CHANCHOS for ZhongChou's surprise party.

The surprise was a major success, except that we started eating before he arrived cos all of us were starving! The gathering was perfect. Dinner ended at about 11 and I loved the part we sat in a circle at the porch, doing nothing and just chat on ends, digging ChangSheng's dirty secrets. heheee! That boy sure has alot of dirty secrets I didn't know of before that! And aren't we glad that this is our last 21st birthday for the clique cos our no more present policy after 21 can officially kick in.

4 pairs of itchy hands headed to Eunice's place to play MAHJONG. Hahaaa. The night ended at almost 6am and I went home 7 dollars richer. If not for the 5tai I gave Yuling at the last round, it would be a nice red note.

At some point in the game, Eunice gave me a 4wan to make this nice finishing. Hahaha.

Peg: Wah, this deserves a photo man.
Eun: Please put my pathetic face there.
Hahaha!

Saturday was spent with my boy. It was our 23rd month and we finally finally got onto the DHL BALLOON after being denied from it exactly 11 months ago. He brought along his huge ass camera and took alot of nice pictures of the view up there and me of course!

The man in action. But unfortunately you can't take self shots using huge ass cameras so Sony Ericsson 3.2 mp camera phone still came in handy.

The flight was very windy so that explains the messy hair. We were super lucky cos we took the last flight of the evening as they stopped the flights when the wind got stronger. Heehee. Had another feast at Ting Yuan after that, when he had a buffet and I had a steamboat the day before. But Ting Yuan is really our favourite steamboat buffet around. I love their Ma La soup base, although I think it is MSG loaded. Their thinly sliced beef, mutton and liver, super fresh prawns, sotong and cuttlefish, their korean rice cake which goes damn well with the spicy soup makes me go back over and over again. I find it super ironic that I looked slimmer over these 2 years being with him. How is it possible with all these endless feasting?

Went shopping after that and had a few good buys which made me an even happier girl! :)

At last, its Sunday, the day before I start my audit internship for good 10 weeks at KPMG. I can't really stomach the fact that it is starting tomorrow. But well, it has to. This morning I dreamt that I got a C for AIS and I was so upset and pissed. Woke up and went to check and was relieved that it is not out. Haha. What a dream!

Wrapping up this holiday with a chillout dinner with HIPS at sunset way later on.

Just one week but I choose to believe that it was awesome and well spent. :))

Emo

All these songs aren't putting me to bed. I might be better off suppering with the rest. But I think its too much of an overdose since I am going to see them 24/7 for the next 2 days. And I am lazy to go out. But actually I wanted to go out for a spin with wound down windows, wind blowing against my face. Did I just say I was lazy?

I hate this feeling lah.

Hope the next 3 days will take my mind off everything.

Post Exam Madnesssssss

The madness started within 2 hours I left the exam hall feeling like shit. How I feel after every paper just got worse from MPW to Ethics, then we thought Tax was bad, AIS was worse! But I guess I got over it quite quickly. Zoomed home to change and off I went to Hanabi with my boyy.

For those of you who actually like Hanabi buffet, I would recommend Hokaido at Turf City. Its a bit more expensive (a few more dollars) but they have a wider variety of stuff. I was so sad when Hanabi didn't have the tepan yaki stuff. And the service and ambience at Hokaido is way better. Hanabi was to rar rar already. My only worry is that Hokaiddo will close down being overly peaceful. Hah.

But still, we had a great feast, eating till we our stomachs were filled to the very brim. And I guess our complimentary lobster made it worthwhile afterall. :)

Most importantly, its the stress-free time spent with the beloved. It hasn't been an easy semester for him too. But this boy has been the sweetest one around, providing all sort of comfort and support to his not-so-little little girl.

I think I wouldn't be able to find another one like you. :)

It was a long night of partying and drinking with these awesome people. Beer, wine, martell, cool people, great music, nice place.

We had so much fun, words wouldnt do justice to the fun we had. And I am still smiling to myself at some of the photos we took. Alot alot of photos and I am lazy to blog them. They are all on facebook though. :)

Lastly, the people who made this sem sooo much easier. School will never be the same without you guys.

Happy December

The past few months went past amazingly fast. It felt like last week we were sending the exchange people off at the airport.

Why the hell am I blogging at this hour when I have a paper in the afternoon. Its the sianness of taking the last paper anyone could take.

Me and Bobbs went abit high in the library at 12+ midnight cos it was soooooo quiet and peaceful as 90% of the SMU population were probably partying already, so we started taking stupid shots.

Our level 2 spot, very empty with only the accounting God studying for his LAST accounting paper.

Will be missing this place till February.
Can't wait for tmr tmr tmr tmr tmr tmr.
Hanabi, brewerks, MOS, alot of fun, alot of fun, alot of funnnnnnnn, drink, drink, drink, party, party, partyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
GO crazy and wild, drop dead and die.
I feel like a dog waiting to be unleashed.
RARRRRR!
