Changsheng's 21st!
One week overdue, but nonetheless, some snaps of CS's lil cosy party at his place. You know its weird how people have certain colour themes and their guests don't follow and some people (like Mr Josh here) didn't have any and the whole group of us coincidentally turn up in pink/purple tops.
Zhongchou presented a song to the bday boy and one for me which he initially planned to do it on my party. Looks like CS and I just can't stop associating our bday celebs together. Haha.
Thankewwww ZC. The stars are definitely shining for me!
Its sad and strange how "shortages" just felt so right nowadays.

Mittelschmerz
Because I have never heard of this ovulation cramp or mid-cycle cramp from anyone before, I went to do some research online. God, I feel like a founder.
Medical Condition known as: Mittelschmerz
A German word that means "middle pain," mittelschmerz is simply pain during ovulation.
An estimated
one in five women experience ovulation pain at some time during their reproductive years
(reproductive years!?). Some have it every month, while others have it only occasionally
(thank God its occasionally).WhenDuring your ovulation period, about 2 weeks from the first day of your period.
Make it a habit to count your days or at least keep track of when your period starts, then at least when something like that happen, you can let the doctor know. Cos they will usually ask for it to help diagnose what it is.
Signs and SymptomsThe main symptom of mittelschmerz is a distinctive, one-sided lower abdominal pain. The pain occurs on the side you're ovulating.
The pain usually lasts a few minutes to a few hours, but it may continue for as long as a day or two. It may be sharp, or it may be a dull ache that feels like a cramp. It may be associated with a small amount of vaginal bleeding, possibly caused by the rapid drop in estrogen that occurs at the time of ovulation. (
yup, there will be a teeny bit of bleeding)
CauseDuring your menstrual cycle, the female sex hormone estrogen causes your uterine lining (endometrium) to thicken every month to create a nourishing environment for a fertilized egg. Soon afterward, a follicle — a tiny sac in your ovary that contains a single egg (ovum) — ruptures and releases its egg (ovulation). If the egg becomes fertilized by contact with a sperm on its way to your uterus, the egg implants in the lining of the uterus. However, most often the unfertilized egg passes through your uterus and out of your body. Shortly thereafter, your uterus releases this lining, and your menstrual flow begins.
Mittelschmerz occurs during ovulation, when the follicle ruptures and releases its egg. No one knows for sure what causes mittelschmerz, but it's possible that just before you ovulate, follicle growth stretches the surface of your ovary, causing pain. You feel it on the side of your abdomen that contains the ovary that's releasing an egg. It's also possible that blood or fluid released from the ruptured follicle irritates the lining of your abdomen (peritoneum), leading to pain.
TreatmentYou don't really have to see a doctor (or 2 for that matter) unless its really god damn serious. Just take some cramp pills, do your normal hot water trick and rest. Unless you really feel like you are dying, then go get the doctor to pierce a needle in your ass.
Everything sounded right for me. A bit of bleeding, roughly 2 weeks into the cycle. Other than the fact that it will usually be on one side of the tummy. My guess is that when the pain kicked in, the whole area just felt painful and I couldn't exactly identify where the pain came from. Like how you have a toothache and you don't know which tooth it came from, something like that.
I was thinking that it might be a good indicator if you are into family planning. The cramp day is probably the best day to get it on and have a baby. But well, thats if your cramp wasn't like mine yesterday. How to even do anything when you can't even stand up properly.

Ovulation cramp.
When we had menstrual cramp, we complained how tough it is to be a woman.
But wait til you try ovulation cramp. It was MAD can.
Can you imagine people who suffer from BOTH menstrual and ovulation cramp every month? They will have to be in pain every 2 weeks. Thats so not fun leh.
I think the workforce should start giving women cramp leaves on top of the normal leave, child care leave and whatever. Idea?
Anyway I had a jab on my bum. Ouch! Feel like some young girl. haha. But it was so much better after that.
Really felt very appreciative and touched when Eunice came down upon my sms. Like 患难见真情. Seeing her in he Kestrel PE shorts told me that she really rushed down for me. We seldom say mushy stuff to each other but really, I don't know what to say. Really thank you alot girl. Hugsss.

Aching mermaid awaits a new ride
This was supposed to be yesterday's post. So all the "yesterday"s are the day before and all the "tmr"s are today etc. Ain't that hard to figure out.I am aching from head to toe from the Sentosa trip. Any muscle, which you can identify that I have moved, has been aching since yesterday morning. Even the neck area which I totally have no idea why. Everytime I sit down, I resist standing up and when I am standing, it takes great pain and effort to sit down. I moved like an old lady. He laughed at the way I get on and off the car cos he says that’s how his grandpa does it. Idiot. But I am half crippled now with the strained ankle. Damn it, how not to admit that I am old. Very kua zhang, I know. But the last I exercised was the gym with Becks. If you put me in just a GS or GK position now and make me play a full 15 x 4quards game, I think I will be TOTALLY paralyzed the next day. No joke. I am damn disgusted with how unfit I am now but yet too lazy to do anything about it. Haha. Ok, ignore me and just let me eat and get fat and die.
And with all the aches and the strain, I went ahead with the pair of work heels (not very high also lah) and stood for 45 mins on 963 at the end of the bendy bus. Holding my zen in one hand, insisting on watching my PB, with the other hand holding the grab pole, keeping my balance. That ride was torturous. Seeing people on your left and right getting a seat because their position was more strategic than yours made it worse.
Anyhoooo, during my 3 and half hours weekly tuition yesterday evening, the boy went down to Tan Chong with his parents. Haha. They were supposed to go see see, talk to the agent, sign a form to authorise the agent to check stuff for them, then head down to Komoco to see Advante. But they came back with a white folder, contract signed and everything, without even seeing the Hyundai.
Yeah baby, I am so looking forward to the white Nissan Latio. His mum pushed for white cos its nice (and cos she seldom need to do the washing, smart mother). The sports version would be so much nicer but I guess it doesn’t make economical sense. But I still love my jazzie baby no less. Smooch. He says cos its white, the Latio is a prince charming. Act like some bai ma wang zi. The car is in stock, so if everything goes smoothly and they get the next COE bid, Prince Charming will arrive in mid July. So exciting. Now that lazy bum has no excuse to “Dear, can we drive your car? Cos I am lazy to keep changing gear in that kind of traffic”. And he will finally trust me with his car once its auto.
Quite some memories we shared were based on the Sunny, so I guess somehow, I might miss it. After all, it’s purple (or at least close to)! And I am so gonna step on the clutch and go, half-clutch, gear 1, gear 2, gear 3 etc at least once more before its gone. I think now he will allow me to. Hehe.
It’s Tuesday tmr. Which means that after tmr, I am only left with 3 weeks (ie 15days) to the end of internship. I realize the week passes faster when you have 2 “weekends” to look forward to. After every Tuesday, I strike off 1 week of internship and look forward to the end. So not so much mid week blues. And if you do your math correctly, next Tuesday is the end of the 8th week. Which means that it is my PAYthetic DAY!
I’m so looking forward to July. 1st July, we’ll be getting our GST offset money from the gahment. Big hug for Uncle Lee. And the anti-smoking in nightspots applies. 10th July I say bye bye to F&N and embrace holidays once again. And our girlies trip to KL. And not forgetting Prince Charming’s arrival! But I hope August never come. I am always damn broke in August from all the close people’s birthday. And the start of new term, plus the buying of books. :(
PS: Latio is pronounced as “lad – sio” Sio as in hot in hokkien. And not the very low class sounding “lad – teo”. And I found out when he was surfing some forums that Hyundai Tucson is pronounced as “too – sawn” and not “tuk – sen”. It sounded more high class definitely. Haha. Mr Poo, did you know?
What huat-sio and Thaksin. Jazz is nice, simple and wouldn’t go wrong. Hor, Jia?

3x Combo
My feet just cramped 3 times in a row. Like some combo and you have extra points. Damn it.
I typed a "post" on MS word at work today but because my low class place has no internet and I didn't bring my thumb drive to work today, the soft copy is still there. And you know when you have the mood for it, things just come out naturally, with energy. But when you have no mood for it, it will become abit forceful and I think I will blog about the things I wanna blog about after I thumb over the MS word tmr.
Look out for "Aching mermaid awaits a new ride on Prince Charming" @ purplepeg.blogspot.com.
Ok, corny.

Beat me in the most unconventional cake!
If you think my mini cuppies were unconventional, you are quite wrong! So now the big hoo haa of the big 21st birthday is over, time to take a breather and do some updating.
My manager gave me half day off. Tee hee hee. A leftover mini cupcake from the party did all the trick. She said a full day would be too blatant so she gave me half day and asked me to be discreet about it. Damn happy. Because the boyfriend said I am the princess for the day, he sent to to work and picked me from work at 12.30.
Upon reaching home, he presented me with my first present:
Looks like high class cupcakes hor? Holy banana. Its huat kueh, if you know what it is. Together with his nonsensical "huat ah!" I almost died laughing on the bed. Ok, those of you who saw the video, its time to stop laughing.
He admited that he is full of nonsense after that. But ok lah, quite sweet lah hor. Haha. And he asked me for 7 numbers to buy toto. Never huat leh. Bluff people one.
I had a goooooooood afternoon nap after that. I tell you, the feeling of having an afternoon nap is damn xing fu man! Haha. And I overslept. So rushed to prepare, hair abit messy, but nvm lah, very long never play with the curler already.
Oh yeah, my boy had a fake magnet bling on the ear for himself. Damn hiao, cannot take it. We went to watch Spider Lilies. R21 show for the 21 year old birthday girl. I thought it was quite a good way to celebrate. And the show happened to be released on 14 June itself, so why not. BUT for those who still cannot watch it, don't feel gek. For those who can, I wouldn't recommend lah. Its really not nice. Abit waste time waste money.
Decided to have dinner at Gyu Kaku. Kinda missed the smell. Haha. Sam prepared this fruity "cake" for me. Damn interesting! BUT he doesn't know that I don't eat watermelon. And the whole "cake" was basically watermelon. OMG.
I gave him abit of face and ate one small ball of watermelon. Blah!
So basically, that sums up the celebration and I didn't really had a "proper" cake at all. My cakes are the original ideas, agree? Haha.
Thanks to all those who msged, email (hi penpal!), called etc. I tried my best to reply to every single sms even though I was at work/sleeping but please don't come hounding on me if I missed you. My this month sms is so gonna explode.
*****
We went Jurong Point for Subway this evening. Sadly, Jurong point is the nearest subway branch in this area. Hello, someone needs to come franchise it in oh-so-happening Bukit Panjang Plaza please.
I wasn't really in the mood for shopping for clothes and stuff so we went to Kiddy Palace and Toys "R" Us to check out toys. And to our amazement, kids wear nowadays are damn hip lah!
He says he'll make his son wear that. Thats pure nonsense. How can you teach your son to lie?
I'm gonna make my daughter wear the "If you think I'm sexy, you should check out my Mummy!" Now, you know baby girls don't lie. Haha. I like the "Breast" friend and the milkholic one. Damn cool!

I actually had a full page font 10 speech drafted out but I left it in the car and was lazy to go get it. And being Glenda trained, I went ahead without the script so I might have left some things out and added in some things adhoc.
Forgot to thank Poo for the coconuts in my speech, and the boyfriend says I did not thank him for the wonderful "Partido de Hawaii" and "Momento de Estrellas" (actually it wasn't part of the speech in the first place) but thank you!
And I also wanted to mention to Janelle and Marcus that I kinda miss the Gyu Kaku days.

Quite a few of you didn't manage to write in my guestbook. Please let me know if you still wanna write, I will bring it along the next time we meet up ok?

Other than the weather, my biggest worry now is the cake person play punk with me. She better not, if not I swear I will hunt down her house in Hougang and burn it down. As for the weather, God, please, hold it. Hold whatever water you have, even if you have to let it for 3 months consecutive after that.
SHIT, suddenly thought of something! Off to call the boyfriend.

A Satisfied Customer
I can be a nice and easily satisfied customer, but I can be damn mean if I think I didn't get the least respect as a customer from you. (Ask the dessert stall guy at Wisma food republic. Muahaha)
I'm a happy customer today.
Simon, the guy from Chevrons whom I'm liasing with called me up today and asked me if I could pass him the contract and the deposit today. It was last minute cos the the public holiday. Our working hours are the same, so it means by the time I knock off, he knocks off too. He doesn't work on weekends unless there's an event. So it means that there's no way I can meet him unless I take MC. So I told him the earliest I can reach Chevrons would be near 7 today.
And he went "hmm.. ok, I wait for you"
I was damn shocked lah. So I went, "REALLY?!"
And he said "zhen de!"
I thought this guy was damn dedicated, so I rushed down to meet him. Kena honked by a truck on the way (oops!) cos I cut into his lane abruptly. But because he went in a neither slow nor fast speed and I need to exit the expressway lah. Ok, I know it was my fault. But also no need to honk so many times right? After that he passed by me he honked again. Ok nvm, I knew it was my fault. Sorry lor, uncle. But don't have to honk so many times.
Right, back to topic. Cos it was past his working time, I thought our meeting will be short and speedy. But I was wrong. He went through the details in the contract with me, although he knew I read it already, brought me to see the venue, although I have seen it and knew which part of it. Brought me to see the back up room upon my request, etc. And really tried to go around the books to accomodate to me with the extra tables and chairs, extra complimentary parking for my guests. I'm impressed with this guy man. Sorry for thinking that you are gay, Simon! Haha. He really sounds like one on the phone. But he is damn courteous, friendly and nice. This is the kind of service I don't mind paying extra for.
Probably cos this guy really made my day. I was in a chirpy mood. The foreign salesgirl at BPP mini toons had awesome service too. Like those kind who will make me turn back just to thank her.
Then followed by the Thai food at BPP food court. I always see foodcourt Korean stall hawkers wearing the traditional costume, but they are actually mainlanders who can't understand English. I thought it was abit off. But the Thai stall at BPP are run by pure Thais who speaks Thai to one another, although they were just wearing Tshirt. One of them don't even understand English can. Probably thats why the food also tasted very local Thai. YUMS. And the woman who could speak Mandarin as well was very friendly and nice as well.
These people made paying so much easier.
And with the dessert stall guy at Wisma food republic, I admitted that what I did was quite unnecessary but I was really quite pissed with him cos I thought it was quite rude of him.
