Satisfaction
Oh well, for the information of you all. I am a part time waitress at Gyu Kaku CHIJMES. Its a jap BBQ restaurant. The pay is so so. Not good to begin with. But I like the working hours. I work whenever I feel like it. Heh. And the second reason is a personal reason which I shall not disclose now.
It didn't started off very well. My first day was horrible. Not the working part but the stupid admin lady in the office. I posted a post scolding a bitch if you remember. Yeah, thats the day. I really felt like quitting. But part of the reason why I did not bring up the topic was because I didn't know how to bring it up to my manager. Quite stupid, I know. And because of that, I stayed on and gradually enjoyed my work. My collegues, managers are all very nice. And the whole team of full and part timers felt like a family. And I really like it there.
To digress abit, I was at Bugis with Penny the other day so I decided to go to the office to sign the damn form which caused the dispute with the "bitch" the other time. I was telling Penny all about that woman and braced myself for another war. But when I went there, she was SOO NICE and GENTLE that I got quite shocked. Haha! And very gently, she said, "那天你哭啊?为什么?" KAO! I was so paiseh!! In my heart I was cursing at Sam (manager). Who else other than Yu and him saw me cry that day. GRR! And she had the cheek to ask 为什么.
Ok, that aside.
On thursday I got my first vote as an excellent staff on the survey form. :D The happy thing was that the table was not under me but I was near them all the while so they called me whenever they needed anything.
I always grumble in my heart that it will be hard for the new part timers to get votes cos we are not given our name tag yet due to shortage. That day I served a family of 7. But I was quite disappointed that they left the voting part blank. I am quite sure they will vote for me if they knew my name cos they thanked me profusely when they left and they circled 5 for staff attentiveness. Quite disappointed but I was happy that I made their first time at Gyu Kaku a nice one and I overheard that they will come back again. :)
So as I was cleaning the table after they left, the nearby table was filling the survey form. I wasn't the one who gave them the form. So I did not loiter around, hoping for them to ask for my name. Yet to my surprise, the lady walked over to me and asked for my name. That was really beyond what I expected. It really made my day. It really meant alot to me. Especially when she walked over just to ask for my name. Frankly speaking, if it was me, I wouldn't bother.
And Friday lunch was busier than normal. I had 3 more votes. 2 of which came from the same table as the day before. So I termed that table as my lucky table. Hehe.
I think they should give me name tag soon! BECAUSE I HAVE TO KEEP SPELLING MY NAME FOR THEM! In times like this, how I wished my name was simple. Like Jane, Mary, Susan, which the spelling is so god damn obvious. HAHA! But only in times like those. I am sane enough to love my name. I get compliments for having a unique name. :) All thanks to Daddy and the Hong Kong serial.
All those voting and stuff sounds lame. But I really get my satisfaction from my job when the customers I served leave with satisfaction.
My inspiration came from this McDonald Auntie. Sometimes I find her abit weird and overly enthu. But she is forever enthu. Regardless of the time I see her. Be it breakfast at 9am or late dinner at 9 pm, everytime I see her, she is damn enthu. She made my morning a little brighter when I buy the $2 breakfast from her the morning I dragged myself out of bed for work. Really. Maybe that inspired me to make people's day brighter with my service.
I hope I don't meet stupid grouchy customers. So far, my customers are as nice as me!
Till then.
